Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18th, 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. and her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix displayed an early talent for athletics when she was studying at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting potential at the time. Within a short time after her first attempt, Felix came in second place in the 200 meter sprint on the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix graduated from high school and signed a professional deal with the company that makes sports Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens Greece. Felix set the record of world juniors for taking 200 meters in 22.18 secs. As of 2005, she was the world's youngest champion in 200 meters of all time at the Helsinki World Championships. She retained her title in 2007, surpassing her long-time Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She was consistently within the top three places of all events.
