Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985 in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix is a minister ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a primary school teacher in Balboa Magnet. Felix was a natural athlete and found her passion of sprinting while during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition she was ranked among the top two athletes at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200 meters in a mere 10 weeks. In 2003, Felix graduated from high school having signed a professional contract with the sports company Adidas before enrolling in the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics held which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to win the 200 meter race. In 2007 she defended that title, beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and was consistently in the top three of athletes in each of her events.
